12:00 noon - We called Mom after doing our grocery shopping in the morning.

She said she'd gone out to the garage to start the car, but once again it isn't starting!  That remark quickly lead to her complaining that she hasn't received her license tabs renewal yet.  Jim reminded her that they'd filled out the License Tabs Renewal forms for that the same day she'd received it.  She mentioned that the paperwork she has says that she could check the status on their website but that when she got on the "thing's" (couldn't remember the word laptop) Facebook & Tik-Tok page it wouldn't let her see the Secretary of State website.  She had no idea how to get from there to the website!  'Everything is supposed to be Facebook' and 'she doesn't know what this TikTok thing is about!'

She was obsessing about it and kept repeating herself on the phone, so I asked her how the pajama bottoms that I'd taken the waist in on fit her.  She didn't slow down enough to even comprehend the question I'd just asked, and assumed it was something about the website and so just kept repeating the same statement about Tik-Tok.  I asked again, but still she continued until I yelled into the receiver "Are you having trouble hearing me?"  Finally, she stopped, explained that she thought I was talking about the Chromebook and said that she still needed to have more taken in. Thank Goodness I was able to get her off topic! She just obsesses lately and repeats herself. She can't seem to step back and change tracks to a new topic, unless someone else does it for her. But even that didn't seem to be working today!

When we got to her place around 2:00 pm, she immediately took me over to the open Chromebook on her kitchen table and wanted me to fix it. On her screen she had multiple windows open and was currently in the "Settings" page for the Chromebook. I have no idea what, if any, settings she'd already changed, but I backed out of the multiple Chromebook and Facebook windows she had open, checked the system notifications and saw that an outstanding update was waiting. I applied the quick security update and then restarted her laptop. Signed her back into the system and ensured everything appeared to be working correctly.

In the meantime, Jim looked everywhere in the desk, kitchen, & house for the envelope from the Secretary of State that might have the new registration & tabs for the Sable in it. To no avail!

I logged into the Secretary of State website on her Chromebook, setup an Online Account for her and then checked the status of her Sable. It showed the current license tabs were "expired". So we used Mom's Visa to renew the tabs on the website. It was a little strange that there was no penalty charged for renewing late. It said that the new tabs should be arriving by mail within 14 days. So we shall see. In the meantime, I downloaded the renewed Registration form on her Chromebook and I'll take it home sometime in the next few days to print it out for her (since she doesn't have a working printer) until the new one arrives in the mail.

Mom seemed a little high as soon as we'd arrived today. She immediately tried to get me to work on the Chromebook, kept jumping from one topic to another, and was just very wound up! It took Jim and I a few minutes to get her back down to earth. And we both asked her if she'd taken her Xanax today. She assured us both times that she had, and even showed us her pill box. I've no idea why she was all wound up, but at least she seemed to calm down after being with us 15 to 20 minutes. Otherwise, she seemed to be doing okay today. But she did mention that she hardly slept the night before.
